Terms and Conditions
It is always a good idea to read the fine print. The terms and conditions below are the basis of the agreement between you as a customer and us as a tour operator. We therefore hope that you will read the terms and conditions before booking your excursions.
World of Greenland has product insurance through IF-insurance. World of Greenland only uses boats approved by the Danish Maritime Authority for passenger sailing and with valid insurance. Similarly, only helicopters with all necessary permits from the Danish Airports Authority and statutory insurance and piste machines with all necessary insurance and safety measures are used.

Reservations are only finally confirmed once online payment has been completed.
We will send confirmations, tickets and any other necessary information by e-mail. You must bring these documents with you as documentation for your stay and excursions. Remember to read these documents before departure. They contain important information and good advice about the booked activities.
If the names on your ticket or confirmation do not match your booking, please remember to notify us immediately.
Cancellations
World of Greenland reserves the right to cancel events in the following cases: too few registrations, poor ice or snow conditions, technical problems on the boat, helicopter or snow machine, community tasks (e.g. Search & Rescue flights, ambulance flights or searches, changes in connection with scheduled services), bad weather and in cases beyond World of Greenland's control that make it impossible to carry out the event in a responsible manner. It is the captain of the respective helicopter, boat, snow machine or World of Greenland who decides whether the weather is suitable for the event to take place or not.
If World of Greenland cancels an event for one of the above reasons, the full amount of the excursion, as well as any fees paid, will be fully refunded to the customer.
If the customer has purchased multiple tours from World of Greenland, and a single excursion program change affects other excursions in the overall program, we will try to adjust the overall program free of charge so that everything can be achieved. Should excursions in this connection be canceled, we will also refund them if they were booked through World of Greenland. World of Greenland does not assume responsibility for other operators' excursions if program changes affect these.
Shortened trips
Tours may be shortened or changed along the way for various reasons. This could be weather, snow conditions, ice conditions, etc.
Hiking tours may be changed due to unforeseen fog or other weather conditions that do not allow the tour to be fully completed or the planned route. This is solely the decision of the tour guide. No compensation or replacement will be provided for changed or shortened hiking tours.
Helicopter tours may change in route and length due to unforeseen weather conditions. For example, fog, strong winds, etc. This is solely the decision of the pilot. The tour may also be shortened if the helicopter is assigned community tasks (e.g. Search & Rescue flights, ambulance flights or searches), as well as other cases that are beyond World of Greenland's control that make it impossible to complete in a responsible manner. If the helicopter tour is completed with a reduced number of flight minutes, the missing flight minutes will be refunded if this exceeds 25% of the total length of the tour. No refunds will be given for missing landings and ground stops.
Boat trips may be changed in route and length depending on weather and ice conditions. This is at the sole discretion of the ship's captain. Refunds will be given for lost sailing time if this exceeds 25% of the total length of the trip.
If you as a customer wish to cancel or change a booking
We strongly recommend that you purchase good medical cancellation insurance and travel insurance so that you are covered in the event of illness for you, your fellow travelers or immediate family, and in the event of flight delays.
World of Greenland does not take responsibility for delays in the journey to Ilulissat in the event of irregularity with the transport companies. Should you be affected by a delay on the way to Ilulissat that means you cannot participate in a purchased event, we ask that you contact World of Greenland as soon as possible. In each case, we will try to rebook you for another day, but there is no guarantee that this is possible.
Once a booking has been paid for, it is generally not possible to cancel. The only exceptions are Force Majeure.
COVID is not Force Majeure. If you are prevented from traveling due to COVID, it will be a matter between you and your travel insurance.
Sponsorships to the Greenlandic Children's Association are non-refundable.
Ticket required
Participation in an event is not possible without a ticket. The ticket is personal and cannot be used by others. Please also bring valid government-issued photo identification.
Minimum number of participants
The individual excursions have a given minimum number of participants. This number is described under the individual excursions. In some cases, we make exceptions and carry out the tour with a smaller number. Cancellation of tours due to too few registered participants can occur up to one hour before the tour departs. If this happens, we will offer an alternative tour. If this is not possible, we will cancel and refund the tour. In addition, no claims for compensation can be made against World of Greenland.
Difficulty levels
World of Greenland requires that you carefully read the tour description for the tours you book, including that the level of difficulty matches your physical ability.
When booking, you must provide your email address. You are responsible for informing us of any changes to the address.
By accepting these terms and conditions, you give World of Greenland permission to send emails with special offers before departure to Greenland, and also permission to send a survey after the trip.
Right of withdrawal
There is no right of cancellation for purchases of experiences and excursions at World of Greenland – this applies regardless of whether the ticket was purchased via the internet or by personal contact with World of Greenland. The general right of cancellation does not apply to, for example: agreements on accommodation, transport, catering, recreational leisure activities, if it is stated in the agreement on which day or during which period the agreement is carried out. Therefore, cancellation follows the aforementioned cancellation rules.
Liability
World of Greenland disclaims any liability for cancelled trips, and compensation for expected experiences. Furthermore, we also disclaim any liability for delays in excursions that result in participants losing connection to other onward transportation.
World of Greenland also limits its liability for air transport to the amounts stipulated in the Danish Aviation Act of 1960, as amended. And for sea transport, to the amounts stipulated in the "Maritime Act" and the Athens Convention on Maritime Transport.
Disclaimer
Since some World of Greenland's offered events are primarily for the "active", dangerous situations can arise, either as part of the particular excursion or as a consequence of the trip. Unexpected situations can arise on hikes, boats can capsize, snowmobiles can overturn, etc.
World of Greenland strives in all situations to exercise the greatest possible caution and to take all relevant safety measures, but it must be emphasized that it is the participant's own responsibility to participate in the arranged activities, and the participant thereby accepts the risk associated with this. World of Greenland is therefore not responsible for any loss, damage, costs or expenses resulting from participation in the arranged excursions. The participant is encouraged to help assess the situation himself and speak up if he/she feels unsafe.
Complaints
Any complaints must be made during the trip so that the unsatisfactory conditions can be improved immediately. They must also be addressed to World of Greenland staff immediately after the activity has ended. If the complaint cannot be resolved here, a written complaint must be submitted no later than 3 weeks after returning from the trip. All lawsuits against World of Greenland must be filed at the District Court in Ilulissat under Greenlandic law. Complaints can be sent to info@wog.gl or by calling 299 944 300
Price change after ordering
At World of Greenland, we have to reserve the right to increase the price after ordering due to changes in purchasing conditions, transport costs (including fuel prices, taxes, duties or fees such as airport, landing or take-off fees), exchange rates or other circumstances that we as the organizer cannot take into account in advance.
Credit card fees
When purchasing by credit card, the bank charges fees that we add to the price. We charge the fees that are currently applicable for the card in question. As of April 2019, the fee list looked like this:

Danish issued debit card 1.55% of the order + 0.19 DKK

Credit card fees are not refundable if the customer chooses to cancel an excursion. If World of Greenland cancels an excursion, the fee will be refunded.
Insurances
World of Greenland has the statutory product insurance. However, it does not include insurance for the participants' private belongings. Should private belongings be damaged or lost during the trip, it is at the participant's own expense or own insurance. We therefore recommend that you take out insurance that covers these cases before leaving your home country.

We have done our best to avoid typographical errors in our catalogue, brochures and advertisements and on our website, but mistakes can happen. We therefore reserve the right to make typographical errors in these media. All legal actions against World of Greenland must be brought before the District Court in Ilulissat under Greenlandic law.
