Become a chef/kitchen assistant in our wilderness lodge Glacier Lodge Eqi. Here we serve good and hearty food made from Greenlandic ingredients – with a view of a calving glacier!


 World of Greenland is looking for chefs and kitchen assistants from the beginning of June to mid-September 2026.

A summer in Eqi is something very special. Here is nothing other than our wilderness lodge Glacier Lodge Eqi – a restaurant, 23 cabins and 6 glamping tents, 80 km north of Ilulissat with the Eqi Glacier and the enormous ice sheet as its closest neighbor.


In Eqi, you are far from civilization. Here we are self-sufficient with our own water purification plant, and the electricity comes from solar cells and emergency generators. It is only possible to get here by boat or helicopter, and the place is far beyond any telephone signal.


Holidays are held partly in Eqi and partly in Ilulissat.

As a chef/kitchen assistant at Glacier Lodge Eqi, you are responsible for ensuring that all culinary experiences at the lodge are of a high standard. As a chef/kitchen assistant, you will be part of a youthful team of 12-14 employees, including kitchen colleagues, waiters, guides and a lodge manager.


We have room for up to 70 dining guests, all of whom will have a breakfast buffet (served by guides), a delicious lunch sandwich (most guests are out for lunch) and a fixed 2-course evening menu with cake afterwards.

As a chef, your main focus will be on making lunch sandwiches and dinner, but also preparing breakfast for the next day.


The standard in the kitchen is generally high, but with an unpretentious atmosphere, where we like to chat a bit with the guests in the semi-open kitchen.



The focus of the food is on high-quality local ingredients, such as reindeer, musk ox, and halibut. 

 Your qualifications

  • You are a trained chef or kitchen assistant and have experience with Nordic cooking.
  • You have a positive attitude and a positive drive - even in busy situations.
  • You are responsible and care about the quality of your cooking.
  • You are passionate about your profession and like to learn from you.
  • You have a good mood, understand the importance of collaboration, and you want to help create a good community with colleagues.
  • You are not intimidated by having to spend a lot of time without signal and away from civilization.
  • You are not afraid of unpredictability and can find creative solutions to suddenly arising problems.
