An easy walk means that you should be able to walk a few kilometers on slightly hilly terrain. Like taking a walk in the forest, on the big paths, with a little detour every now and then. You should also be mobile enough to be able to climb aboard a boat, even if it might rock a little.
Accessible to anyone in good health who is used to off-road walking and hiking. When it comes to sledding, we call it moderate, as you may have to get off the sled and walk/run alongside. In addition, you need to have a healthy back, as there will be bumps and knocks along the way.
On a challenging hike you must be able to walk up and down some steep hills. You may also have to walk on loose rocks and cross streams, as well as walk on snow and ice. The guide will of course help you. This involves hiking with a backpack. When challenging is used in connection with sledding, it is because it is expected that you can walk/run after the sled up hills if needed. (Don't worry, you can get a helping hand by holding on to the sled).
On a demanding hike, we expect you to be in good physical shape. This means that you can walk long distances for up to several days, and that you can climb many meters of altitude during the day. For example. our hike to the Inland Ice Sheet, where 1000 meters of altitude and 20 km must be climbed in one day. Demanding hikes involve hiking with your own backpack.
Expedition level, requires considerable effort and endurance. Only suitable for people in very good physical shape.
Visitors to Glacier Lodge Eqi
Glacier Lodge Eqi is located on the mountain 100 m above sea level. We therefore recommend that you bring your luggage in a backpack, as the climb does not allow you to bring a suitcase. Please note that the landing is not handicap-friendly. All hikes in Eqi, as well as hiking on your own, should be considered mountain hikes that range from challenging to very demanding.
